In a 3 site MGM environment , with virtual LCP copy & a testcopy, we are limited to only 1 testcopy flashcopy target.
We have a requirement to take Flashcopies once a week along with having RC1 flashcopy taken daily.
Currently, there is no possibility to perform flashcopy to RC2 from TESTCOPY manager.
In the manual it says - The GDASD ... RC1 ... script statements are intended to be used to take direct FlashCopies to the RC1 copy set. The script statements use FlashCopy sequence numbers in an LCP enabled environment. Only RC1 is supported as the direct FlashCopy target disks.
Am looking for ways to take flashcopy on RC1 along with another flashcopy set. May be something like -
FCESTABLISH RC2 NOCOPY or TESTCOPY CAPTURE RC2 NOCOPY
or may be support for RC3.

Similar to what Fifth Third mentioned, we are in MGM4SITE so this does not directly apply to us, however would vote LOW priority for this.

Low priority for AmEx
We already do this in our MGM4SITE. Why is MGM3SITE different? Or is it because it’s virtual rather than physical? If it truly is different in MGM3SITE, then I’d be ok giving this a MEDIUM vote even though it would never apply to Fifth Third. If it’s different because they are doing virtual, then I’m more inclined to vote VERY LOW since IBM offers the solution with physical LCP.
not needed.
I understood this idea's headline as "GDPS LCP ability...". Taking from that, currently we have an additional testcopy space together with RS1-RgnB box to provide an IPLable flashcopy version of our production with data consistency, for tests purposes, what we agree that duplicates somehow with the ability to IPL from RC1. This idea might come on the direction to our requirements in a near future as well.
