Add CICS Statistical Summary reports

With DFHSTAT we have summary statistical reports. When we bought this product we were informed it could do everything that our DFHSTAT and Omegamon reports did.
There are statistical alert so we have list reports, but the current version of the product does not have summary reports so we have to go through extra efforts to create what DFHSTAT did automatically

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Enterprise Tooling
    Product - CICS Performance Analyzer

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Enterprise Tooling
    Product - CICS Performance Analyzer

The business justification is that the DFHSTAT reports are currently used by Systems and Molnitoring departments.
The program invocations are checked to find out how much a program is used total for the whole day. This has become esp necessary lately, as we try to get rid of certain transactions.
File usage would also be helpful right now because we were looking to identify the most used CDT files.

If you need more info, please let me knkow.

PA can report on the statistics, but the reports and less than ideal.

Currently we take our SMF data and we run reports that DFHSTUP reports (sorry I named the wrong report int he original comments). We didn't think we would have to keep running these after purchasing PA.

These reports show totals for Program invocation, File usage, etc.

That STAT alerts with PA show it by chunks of SMF data and the readability is less than desirable.

Plus DFHSTUP shows us ALL program invocations. To do so with PA we would have to define each program individually, that will never happen.

Note that CICS PA can report on CICS Statistics recorded in the CICS TS SMF 110 Type 2 (Statistics) records.
DFH0STAT is an online utility that reports on metrics obtained dynamically and complements offline reporting tools such as CICS PA.

With regard to "Another one that we have already had a request for is program invocation counts" is that the by transaction request?

Another one that we have already had a request for is program invocation counts.

Looking through DFHSTAT I think some version of the temporary storage, Transadction Class, and MQ connection summary reports may be helpful.

If I come up with any other ones I will let you know.

    Heather,

Thanks for raising this RFE. As discussed via e-mail, we are providing Batch (List) reporting for Statistics in CICS PA 5.2.
It would be great if you can review this capability when CICS PA 5.2 becomes available on 13th June.

Thank you for providing the use case, can you provide other examples of Statistics Summary reports that you find useful and would like to see in CICS PA.
The more examples you provide, helps us in considering a possible solution for Batch (Summary) reporting for Statistics.

    regards,

    Satish
