CICSPlex SM WUI. Detailed information about the cascade removal procedure during the "CICS system definition" deletion.

When a "CICS system definition" is removed, some of its related resources are also excluded. There is a message advising this procedure ("WARNING. For this definition type, removal will cascade through related associations"). Customer asked us the possibility to CPSM inform what resources were excluded (e.g. System links, System group links, etc). The information could be registered in the WUI view or at least in the EYULOG. Customer also complained that, if the last CICS system definition is excluded from a CICS system group, this CICS system group remains defined, but empty. Customer also would like to be able to decide about the deletion of the CICS system group (as requested in the RFE ID 22583).

This requirement has been re-evaluated. Looking at current plans, it is not likely that this would be implemented in the next two CICS TS releases, so correspondingly this requirement is being rejected. You have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be considered then.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

This is a candidate for inclusion in a future release, but is not committed to any release plan at this time. If implemented the function would be made available via Explorer rather than enhancements to the WUI.

As the WUI is now stabilized, we will not be making enhancements for new function. However, we should certainly consider this as a future modification to the CICS Explorer.

    1) The user could either be prompted with a full or summary list of the additional resources that are to be deleted as part of say the deletion of a CICS System Group. Or maybe an option could be added to allow such a list to be viewed if the user wanted to.
    2)  A full or summary list of the additional resources that are to be deleted could be added to the EYULOG or maybe event written to some other journal file.
    3) A global (CICS wide) systems journal could be introduced in the future where details of all modifications to CICS or CICSPlex SM resources could be logged.
