XML Generate not aware of CDATA section, was: case numer TS004007239

Handling of Data within a CDATA Section when generating XML is incorrect. The COBOL compiler starts to escape characters within a CDATA section when that section contains (valid) XML. According to the official XML standards, it should NOT modify ANYTHING in a CDATA section. The compiler does do this by "escaping" characters in the embedded XML.

More than a valid RFE, this is a defect...

Although this may be a valid RFE, we do not see this being implemented in the next 2 years due to the significant amount of changes that would be needed in the XML GENERATE runtime architecture. As a result, we will be rejecting this RFE.

We are still investigating this RFE further and require some more time.

Attachment (Description): The output of the COBOL program, demonstrates how the 'included' XML is modifed by the "XML GENERATE" statement --> view the < > and & elements WITHIN the CDATA tag.
