z/OS 2.1 JCL-Variables GET/SET via COBOL Program

It would be nice, if a COBOL Program could set or get an JCL-Variable, because of exploiting the new z/OS V2.1 Variable Handling.
This could bring some benefit for larger Batch-Applications with many Steps and Jobs.

Hi, this should already be possible by using the CEEGTJS callable service provided by LE.

z/OS Language Environment Programming Reference (link below):
    SA38-0683-00
CEEGTJS retrieves and returns to the caller the symbol value and length of the requested exported JCL symbol.
