Simplify rectangular block copy-paste in the COBOL editor

Currently, the COBOL editor allows the user to copy-paste a rectangular blocks of text. The user can activate the "block selection mode", then select a rectangular block and then copy it in the editor's clipboard.

The issue comes when the user wants to paste the text and at the same time override existing text. There is no easy way to do it.

With the current implementation, when the user triggers the paste action, the text of the clipboard is inserted at the position of the cursor. It means that the text following the cursor is shifted. If the user wants to override existing text at the same time he makes a paste, he needs to select the area he wants to override before triggering the paste action.

Often, the user wants to paste the a rectangular block of text that has been copied in the clipboard while, at the same time, override a rectangular block of exact same size as the copied block. This will result in a paste action that will override text without shifting text that follows the paste position.

Currently, it is possible to do that, but not practical. Before triggering "paste", the user has to select a rectangular block of exact same size as the copied block. This is indeed not practical because the user has to count the width and height of the copied block, remember this information, and then select a rectangular area of exact same width and height before pasting.

Our suggestion is to provide a way to paste a rectangular block in "replacement mode". This will overide a block of exact same size as the copied block, without for the user to have to remember the size and select an area to override.

It does not mean that the current paste (which works in "insertion mode) is to be removed. Both modes should be provided.

For example, the "replacement mode" for pasting can be activated when the editor is in mode "overwrite".

Basically, to resume, we need a way to copy-paste a rectangular block, overwriting a rectangular block of exact same size, without having to count and remember the size of the copied block and without having to select a "destination" block.
