Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

Continue commenting when inserting a line break within a comment

Hi IBM,

when you edit a comment in a COBOL source in the COBOL editor and you hit ENTER (aka you insert a new line), the new line should be automatically a comment line.

At the moment, the cursor is being positioned on the beginning of the text in the previous line but no comment "*" at column 7 is being inserted.

We opened this request already as RFE 128532 but you closed it as duplicate of 53255 which was not correct because 53255 explains something complete different (handling of line numbers)

This case is NO duplicate of RFE 53255!!

Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. Your request is currently inline with our product strategy and we have planned it for a future release of the product. Thank you for your suggestion and continued support.
