In IMS Recovery Expert, provide estimate of time to recover

Typically when customers are faced with a situation where they may need to take an application offline and perform database recovery, they would like to have an estimate of the time it will take to recover in order to make a decision on if and when they may do the recovery. It does not need to be accurate at the minute level, but an order of magnitude. For example, will it take 10 minutes or 3 hours to perform this recovery?

After careful evaluation, IBM plans to address this RFE with future documentation updates on how to estimate recovery time. We will work with interested customers as we develop the documentation to ensure it is clear and addresses their recovery scenarios.
