DB Quiesce without RM in IMSPLEX

We have an application which has 20 single IMS production systems on 10 LPARS (2 IMS each) in one IMSPLEX . Every day at 00:00 AM we have to “DBR” all databases for a consistency point for the application. The procedure of stopping the application, generate a job for change accumulation (image-copy every week after reorganisation) and starting the appication (800 databases, 500 programs, 210 transactions, 33 MPPs and at least 21 BMPs each) takes about 20 to 25 minutes.

    This requirement has been in 'Need More Information' status since November 21, 2014 and the requested information has not been provided. As a consequence we have, unfortunately, closed this request to status Information Not Provided.

    We appreciate your input to the IMS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of IMS.

    Mr Endres:

    Thank you for your enhancement request. The DB QUIESCE function would work if you could start a single RM in your IMSplex environment. Can you explain the inhibitors to implementing RM in your IMS environment?
