Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

JSONGET support for null objects

JSON text includes a JSON object that is sometimes valued and sometimes null. When the object is null, we receive ONCODE 5084.

Reference case TS016062055

Given the following structure:

Dcl 1 outStruc ,

3 name0 char(10) ,

3 name1 ,

5 first char(10) ,

5 last char(10) ;

Works as expected:

{

"name0" :"Bob Green" ,

"name1" : {

"first" :"Bob" ,

"last" :"Green"

}

}

ONCODE 5084:

{

"name0" :"Bob Green" ,

"name1" : null

}

Development teams are attempting to use index() and substring() to manually parse this JSON. Other teams are rewriting to COBOL.
