EAV was introduced almost a decade ago in September 2008 and is critical for growth and scalability in zOS.
Without support for EAV we must maintain low density volumes for these exceptions, and potentially run into zServer limitations with number of configured addresses.
We have made a temporary work around in our shop with SMS to assign a dataclas with EATTR=NO
This at a minimum should be done by the product (Omegamon) for datasets it can't tolerate being on the cylinder managed space of an EAV.
