REQUIREMENT ABSTRACT

The offline components DATAREAD and TRAP should be moved to Linux.


REQUIREMENT DESCRIPTION

The offline data reduction program DATAREAD is currently written in Presentation Layer/1 and must be built/run on zOS. The offline software profiler program TRAP includes a Presentation Layer/1 component and must be built/run on zOS. IBM should rewrite both offline components and move them to Linux.

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS

• Elimination of Presentation Layer/1 compiler requirement for vanilla IBM product
• Easy incorporation of industry standard data extraction methods to allow critical performance and capacity planning data to be stored in formats that are easy to query and trend.

    Moving DATAREAD to Linux duplicates developerWorks RFEs 39856 and 70971. This was delivered with PJ42460 on z/TPF PUT13.
    Moving TRAP to Linux duplicates developerWorks RFE 40803. This RFE is being closed as a duplicate.
