This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

We want to move away from assembler based product options and modifications to a modern approach with regular parameter files. This approach provides more agility, easier maintenance and easy transparency on used settings. This initiative is not limited to Workload Scheduler but goes across the entire z/OS and z/OS middleware stack.
We have three assembler exits we currently need to maintain for the Workload Scheduler product:
EQQPIFJX - JCL repository maintenance
JESEXT07 - JES2 JCT I/O exit
JESEXT51 - JES2 QMOD phase change exit
The request is to replace these exits with functionality in such a way that we as z/OS users do not have to code SMP/E usermods for assembly of the exits and understand assembler processing.
Suggested modern ways for replacing these exits: through a normal parameter deck, or through a callable JES2 interface instead of an exit interface.
Kind regards,
Niek
