COBOL should be able to generate multiple namespaces in XML

System: IBM z/OS 2.3
Product: COBOL / XML

COBOL 6.2 provides the option to generate simple XML structures with namespaces and attributes. However, the complexity of XML and its ability to transfer data across platforms requires the use of complex XML structures with multiple namespaces and the ability to create many levels nested under an original XML GENERATE. Currently, to achieve this, one must hard-code many attributes and opening and closing tags and string them together using a variable. This is extremely cumbersome and should be an easier task. My request is to allow an XML structure to be built within the COBOL data definition and generate XML from that when data is imported from a batch job or DB2 call.

This RFE is being cancelled as there is an alternative of using JSON.

Please consider using JSON instead of XML for this RFE.
