Support of DECIMAL-POINT IS VIRTUAL

The DECIMAL-POINT clause allows you to choose the character of the decimal mark in the expression of the numerical constants and in the masks of the edited numeric zones.
In a multi-currency context, we would like the dot and comma characters to be only insertion characters and not decimal mark characters.
For this we propose an extension to the clause DECIMAL-POINT with a VIRTUAL option:
DECIMAL-POINT IS VIRTUAL
In this case, it would be the V character that would be used to set the decimal position in the constants and masks of the edited numeric fields.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

We have revised this RFE again taking your reply into account. However, we do not think this RFE will be widely used; and is not inline with our roadmap.

As a result, we will be rejecting this RFE. Thanks.

The management of "locales" on the PICTURE clause, or in a more global context, is interesting and should be introduced in the possibilities of the Enterprise Cobol compiler.

However in this case it would not meet our needs:
    - we manage all the monetary data without a decimal part: the values are expressed in their lowest fraction, according to their exponent as described in ISO 4217,
    - we want to be able to use the characters "." and "," as simple insertion characters and not as the mark of the decimal position.

Will the LOCALE phrase on the PICTURE clause be sufficient for your purposes? If so, we can change this RFE to represent the LOCALE phrase on the PICTURE clause.

Note: LOCALE phrase would still need to be implemented in a future version of the compiler
