For the initonly option, add the capability to have JCL generated using pgm=HPSCMAIN when the DB has multiple DSGs.

The current init process only allows for fast path and full function db initialization if only one dsg and a primary index is associated with the database. Our team has several applications that have dbs that need to be initialized in the event of a disaster recovery and these dbs have several dsgs along with a primary  index and secondary indexes. This option would allow for this need to be met using the recovery expert tool and not home grown tools developed for this purpose which would allow for standardization in the recovery process. 

 

The attached document is a process provided from RE development that explains the issue with iRE panel screenshots. An option that would perhaps help in more than just this one area is for the index build option (here secondary index) to have the capability to spawn in a separate job instead of being included in the initial job itself (in a separate issue, we experience sort issues when primary index, secondary index, and if it's a haldb, ilds is included in a singe job, maybe having the IB jobs split out more would help reduce sort processes per job - so maybe enhancing IB to more than one job in this init process would also play into helping other issues that experience IB sort issues?)

    An enhancement is not needed for the IMS Index Builder job. Questions about this are being handled separately. The Idea remains accepted for the DR INITONLY enhancement request.

    The Idea for the DR INITONLY enhancement is accepted. A target delivery date is not yet determined.

    The idea for the Index Builder job enhancement is still being discussed between IBM and the customer.
